Employee Experience & Culture Specialist

What’s this position about?

We have a unique opportunity for an Employee Experience & Culture Specialist to join us as we embark on the journey to reimagine our internal communications strategy and employee experience journey. The Culture & Experience Specialist will be responsible for implementing & supporting employee engagement programmes and initiatives throughout the employee life cycle (Attract, Engage & Develop) from onboarding, on project & offboarding.

With a focus on enhancing & building the Makosi experience & people focused culture, you will focus on the Employer Brand implementation and deliver operational support, aimed at increasing employee engagement, supporting the delivery of business performance, and improving overall efficiency, effectiveness, and cadence around the Makosi culture and consultant experience.

With an objective of increasing the innovative ways to build Makosi EVP & experience, you will work closely with departments to roll out impactful internal comms & engagement plans that aligns with the business strategic objectives. You will drive results and success by ensuring that that the employee value proposition and culture is supported by the whole business and projects have key measures in place.

Duties

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Develop and project manage, within budget and according to agreed timelines, internal communication initiatives in support of the achievement of the communications strategy.
  • Coordinate, write, edit and distribute content across all internal communications channels within the organisation.
  • Project manage events end-to-end (including communications, technology, presentations, talking points etc.)
  • Identify and develop new communication channels
  • Manage internal communication channels and branding spaces across the organisation
  • Manage internal campaigns from inception to completion, inclusive of message development and content packaging
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of activities
  • Identify and develop new communication channels

  • Draft and take ownership of internal communications calendar
  • Contribute ideas and concepts to enable creative and effective communication
  • Plan, organise and manage events, including motivations, budgets, collateral development, vendor management, logistics and delegate support
  • End-to-end management of internal events
  • Establish and maintain relationships with event partners and vendors
  • Onboard and manage suppliers
  • Take minutes, prepare presentations and reports
  • Update and maintain internal communication portal
  • Execute creative, industry first onboarding & offboarding experiences
  • Implement employee engagement initiatives, conferences, wellness initiatives and get togethers across the orgImplement value added solutions across our Employee Experience that align with the business objectives
  • Identify surface trends in both qualitative and quantitative data to help improve our Employee Experience
  • Drive, initiatives that will enhance and bring Makosi values to live


Requirements & Skills

  • Relevant Bachelor degree
  • 3 years experience in a Communication role, either in-house or agency
  • Must have employee culture and experience exposure within an HR capability/people space 
  • Familiar with various internal marketing channels
  • Digitally savvy, having the right skills and intuitive knowledge to operate modern devices effectively
  • Strong executer and implementer
  • Excellent proven writing and editing skills and understanding of messaging required
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and English language skills
  • Outstanding organisational skills and time management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Creative with solid problem solving & decision-making capabilities
  • Resourceful and service-orientated with a can-do attitude and high level of flexibility
