Head of Learning and Development
What’s this position about?
As the Head of Learning and Development, the role will be collaborating with cross-functional leads across our consulting divisions Audit & Transactional & Advisory Services as well as our corporate office leaders. You will be required to provide strategic direction and thought leadership to develop our staff in pursuit of the highest performing teams in the world. We are looking for someone who understands business and learning through the lens of people and can establish the Learning and Development capability.

Duties
Your daily adventures will include:
- Build, execute and lead Makosi's learning and development strategy & roadmap across the organisation globally
- Create learning experiences and instructional content in a variety of formats (webinar, microlearning, etc.)
- Lead and manage the implementation of Makosi's L&D philosophy, Governance, Processes and Standards
- Creating and implementing initiatives in line with our strategy to upskill employees, recognise core talent and drive a high-performance culture
- Work with stakeholders to define training requirements and learning goals
- Oversight and implementation of learning programs
- Drive engaging learning programs that maximize retention of knowledge
- Maintain knowledge of new methods, techniques and technologies for training, ensuring our strategies exceed the changing demands of our market.
- Selecting and partnering with 3rd party providers where needed
- Collaboration with the people team to implement a succession and talent planning activity across the business globally ensuring critical and high potential talent have defined career paths and individual development plans
- Framework for firm wide Skills Development & FASSET reporting and management of grant payments from SETA
- CPD Framework design and roll out across experienced and Trainee programmes
- Managing the L&D budget, working with Leadership to make decisions and plan ahead
- Mentoring, motivating and developing the Learning and Development team to create a positive and effective team and working culture
- Manages the efficient operation of the learning and development department
- Act as subject matter expert and key business advisor to the organization on all related people processes, frameworks across people operations & engagement
Role requirements:
- CA(SA)
- 8 - 10 years of experience in leading, developing, designing and overall implementation of learning strategies, content and programs across global / multiple departments of Makosi
- Previous experience with SAICA CA2025 strategy together with global leading qualifications & accreditations
- Understanding of varied learning styles and / or learning methodologies and future enabling learning technologies
- Passionate about helping people to learn and grow
- Effective communication and negotiation skills

- Innovative through tech and new learning methodologies
